- Where are you from? What do you do for work? Family?
I was adopted from Wuhan, China. I lived in an orphanage until my parents adopted me at one years old on March 3, 2003. They said I never liked being carried or holding hands. They did say I liked running, eating and climbing on top of objects when I was one years old. I have never met my biological parents. The only piece of information I have from them is a red slip of paper, that has my birthday date written in Chinese. My birthday is October 10, 2001. I flew back to America on March 15, 2003. I am in the 8th grade at Rivers Academy. I go to Rivers because I am doing a sport or something active which is CrossFit and dance. I have a dad, mom, a brother, who is 25 yrs old and does CrossFit at CrossFit FBO in Erie, Pennsylvania, and one big dog.
- When did you start CFP?
I started CFP 9 months ago. I came here because my other CrossFit was not fitting me and I like CFP because of the positivity throughout the gym. I also stopped gymnastics because of fear/mental blocks. I made huge accomplishments in gymnastics like getting my first 38 score in level 4, being on the Georgia regional team for level 7 and 8, and going to Russia with my friends and coaches to train with the Russian elite gymnasts. I really miss gymnastics but that’s why I am doing CrossFit because it keeps you in good shape and feels just like gymnastics except with weights instead of going to different events. Also, in gymnastics if you were to compete there would also be a leaderboard to see where you are overall. I also know most of the gymnasts that will be competing in the 2016 Olympic games. I believe that CrossFit and gymnastics are very similar.
- What’s your biggest fitness/health accomplishment since starting CFP?
My biggest fitness/ health accomplishment is that after the 3rd week of the CrossFit Open I am in 26th place in the world for 14-15 yr old girls.
- What are your future fitness goals?
I am still trying to figure this out but one of them is being in the CrossFit Games, that would be super fun.
- What do you do for fun?
I compete in dance, such as contemporary, lyrical, tap, and jazz. All of these have different flares.
- What’s your favorite lift/workout?
My favorite lift is power cleans. I don’t have a favorite workout yet.
- What’s your least favorite lift/workout?
My least favorite is bench press. I also don’t have a least favorite workout.
- What advice would you give to anyone wanting to start at United Performance?
My advice would be… even if you take baby steps you’re getting somewhere, and one more although it hurts (in a good way) keep going you’re doing great
