  1. Where are you from? What do you do for work? Family?

I am from Atlanta, GA and lived in Woodstock my whole life. I have had various jobs over the years; from teaching, owning a cake business, CrossFit coach, and more. But now I am in real estate and absolutely love it. It has definitely pushed me out of my comfort zone and taught me a lot about myself. As most of you know I am recently engaged to Tanner 🙂 and we have two little puppies that are our kids. My younger brother is head coach/owner Travis, my parents are Jack and Rose Anne (I am so proud of them and how hard they work … If I am doing what they do at their age then I will be so happy.) I have another brother who is in between Trav and I named Mitchell. He lives in Omaha with his wife and three dogs as he is active duty military. I am also a new aunt to Travis and Lauren’s little boy, Boston, and just love him so much.

  1. When did you start CFP?

I have always been a part of Travis’s gyms whether it was full or part time, but it wasn’t until 2014 at the old building that I joined on full time with the CFP family. CFP was always so far away from where I lived and not convenient and I still drive 30 min to get to the box, but it is so worth it and now I couldn’t imagine being a part of any other box.

  1. Whats your biggest fitness/health accomplishment since starting CFP?

My biggest fitness accomplishment was getting a ring MU, I feel like I could quit now and be okay. Lol jk …. that wouldn’t happen! As far as my biggest health accomplishment is after years of struggling with weight I was able to find something that finally worked for me and I lost 30#. It wasn’t easy, but it was worth it. I have always worked out, eaten healthy, and tried everything with little to no results (aka very frustrating). But after hiring a personal nutritionist, having the accountability and staying focused on a goal I was able to lose all the weight I fought so hard for for so many years and have kept it off for over a year now. I have learned how to eat and still enjoy life. I have found what works for me to stay healthy, feel strong, sleep better, little to no migraines, and more. 🙂

  1. What are your future fitness goals?

As far as future fitness goals, I am no Travis. He stole all those genes. Lol!! He’s amazing and I am so proud of him and all he has worked for and accomplished. Anyways I’ve had a couple injuries over the last couple years that have seemed to be quite the set back at the time (after being out for 8 months), but have allowed me to come back stronger and smarter when it comes to fitness. I’ve learned a lot about what I want out of CF for the future and my body and that is to just remain healthy, work out, have fun and get stronger if that is what my body allows.

  1. What do you do for fun?

Hang with my man and our pups; walks, go to the park, and hike. DIY projects in our new home and just in general. 🙂 Wake board, bake, and hang with family and friends.

  1. Favorite lift/workout?

My favorite lift would have to be push jerks and power cleans. I love squat cleans, but after my back injury I can’t do them to the same capacity which stinks. However, I am slowly creeping back up to my old squat clean numbers and getting more comfortable in that position.

  1. Least favorite lift/workout?

My least favorite movement would be CTB Pull Ups and snatches for my least favorite lift …. I am not that great at them so I don’t enjoy them.

  1. What advice would you give to anyone wanting to start at United Performance?

Don’t feel like you have to get in shape before starting CrossFit, there are so many different levels of fitness in our CrossFit family. Everyone is different and that is what is so awesome about CrossFit, it can meet you where you are now. You can scale or modify any workout to meet your fitness to allow you to train smart and safe. The Passion coaches are more concerned about you staying healthy and learning all the movements correctly instead of training heavy and fast. Be smart and listen to your body. Leave your ego at the door and be open to try new things and push your body to new limits. You never know what your body is capable of until you try. Embrace the community as it will quickly become your family. CFP is an amazing group of people and coaches that care and support you inside and outside the gym.
