  1. Where are you from? What do you do for work? Family?

I grew up in Indiana. I moved to Atlanta not long after college and met my wife Alli. We spent a few years in San Diego and Dallas before moving back three years ago. We have two daughters Ellie-6 and Katherine-5. We have a family membership at United Performance (our girls go to CrossFit Kids classes too). I am a Regional Sales Manager for a US Paper Manufacturer.

  1. When did you start CFP?

March 2014

  1. What’s your biggest fitness/health accomplishment since starting CFP?

In the beginning, I was out of shape and struggled with the basics…air squats, push-ups, running, etc… Pull-ups and toes-to-bar seemed impossible. What’s great is that it really didn’t matter. All you have to do is show up and work hard. The awesome coaches at CFP would scale the weight and workouts to my ability. Fast forward two year and I’m stronger, have changed the way I look at nutrition, and just feel better. I also lost 25 lbs in the process. I had a great start to 2016 getting chest to bar pull-ups, toes-to-bar, and double-unders in time for the open. I owe a big thank you to Marjorie, Travis, Macy, Taylor, and Aimee for all of their support. I also have to thank my wife for making me go with her at the beginning.

  1. What are your future fitness goals?

Set a healthy example for our kids. Work on stringing together pull-ups. Hand stand push-ups.

  1. What do you do for fun?

Spending time with family, hanging at the lake, hunting, and golf.   I am also a big IU Basketball fan.

  1. Favorite lift/workout?

Rowing and dead lifts

  1. Least favorite lift/workout?

  1. What advice would you give to anyone wanting to start at United Performance?

I did not work out or go to a gym before starting CrossFit. So I can tell you from experience that you do not have to be in shape to start. It doesn’t matter how much you can lift or if you can even do pushups, the coaches/members at CFP will make you feel welcome. All you have to do is show up and work hard. You’ll feel like you accomplish something after every workout. Just stick with it for at least 3 months and you will to start feeling/seeing the results.
