Aimee Berencsi moved to Atlanta in Jan 2016 after living in Arizona for the last 10 years. An athlete her entire life and after playing collegiate softball, Aimee wasn’t looking for a new sport however she fell in love with CrossFit after being introduced to it by her friend and Games Competitor Peter Egyed in 2007. Aimee and Peter worked together at a “regular” gym but when Peter opened his own CrossFit gym, CrossFit Fury, Aimee joined him and eventually became the manager of his 15,000 square foot, 500 member facility. Aimee got her level 1 certification in September of 2009 and has been coaching and competing in CrossFit for the last 8 years. Aimee qualified for Regionals as an individual in 2012, 2013 and 2014 but loves the team competition and joined Fury’s Bomb Squad in 2011. She and her team went to the CrossFit Games in 2011 (finished 21st) and 2012 (finished 17th) and they have competed at Regionals every year since 2011. While managing Fury, Aimee also coached CrossFit classes, worked with youth teams, did personal training and organized local competitions. She graduated from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia with a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology and Sports Management. She lives in Alpharetta with her husband and two children Zoli (12) and Maggie (8).
